After a third place secured during the First Qualification on Thursday, the DWB mare Quinn G (Quaterhit x Fassbinder) and rider Betina Jaeger went above and beyond during the World Breeding Dressage Championship for Young Horses 5-year-old’s final. Quaterhit’s daughter was awarded the highest possible score for perspective and two excellent 9,7 grades for both her trot and canter, offering her a close-to-perfection score of 94,8.
During the prize ceremony, her rider couldn’t express how proud she was: “She is such a happy horse that always wants to work for me, with her ears pointed forward. As soon as she sets foot in the arena she is on fire and gives it her all”. “Gold is the best feeling imaginable as a breeder” continued Quinn G’s breeder, Helene Geervliet. “As it turns out, she is a true competition horse. She has a lovely temperament and always says ‘yes’ to her rider”. A well deserved champion’s title for the exceptional chestnut mare.
As a matter of facts, the five-year-old’s final top 3 was all about chestnuts! Silver medal was awarded to the Westphalian gelding No Limit (Geniaal x Florestan), bred by Marcel Roerdink, and his Australian rider Simone Pearce, with an overall score of 88,6 achieved by the recently paired couple. “Six weeks ago, No Limit could not even perform this test, so I am incredibly proud of him” shared Pearce beaming with pride. “Everything is new to him and for us as a team, so it is amazing he tried his heart out here” she added.
And last chestnut – but not least – the Hannoverian stallion Beck’s (Benicio x Desperados), bred by Christian Thelker. Together with rider Thomas Schulze, Benicio’s son made his way to the bronze medal with the impressive score of 88,2 and two 9 for both his trot and perspective. An amazing WC debut for the German rider, absolutely pleased with the performance of the one he considers his “ biggest friend”.
A 5-year-old final that was definitely exceptional, with high potential contestants as stated by the jury during the event.
