• One of the oldest breed societies, founded by Napoléon First

French National Association For Anglo-Arabian Horses (ANAA).

The breed is a result of the crossing between the English Thoroughbred and the purebred Arabian. In Middle of the 19th century, it was registered in the “French stud-book of purebred horses.” Nowadays, the breed has been developed in several countries, and as a result the CIAA (International Confederation of Anglo-Arab studbooks) was founded in 1993. It is well-known that the Anglo-Arabian is used to refine other Europeans breeds, adding elegance and sensitivity, it transmits the necessary “blood” to all good horses destined for equestrian sports. Anglo-Arabs are valued as grading horses by other European studbooks, as their offspring inherit their elegance and spirit, all qualities that should be found in any sport horse. Their most distinctive feature is to breed equally Anglo-Arabian sport horses and racers. MAIN DISCIPLINES Anglo-Arabs are regularly ranked in international competitions, mainly in eventing and long-distance rides. They combine mental and physical qualities: they are elegant, willful, spirited and skilled horses with loose and ground covering paces, balance and an excellent stamina. THE 3 DAYS DEDICATED TO THE BEST GENETICS in POMPADOUR (Center West of France) Every year in September an Anglo-Arab Breeding Festival is organized by ANAA: Two-year old colts and fillies compete in in-hand & conformation classes, and go on to participate in the free jumping tests. Three-year old colts, fillies and geldings are assessed in-hand, as well as under the saddle. An additional under saddle jumping test assesses mares, geldings and future stallions. Marks are awarded for in-hand classes and free jumping, and the jury assesses the horses’ abilities during an additional jumping test under the saddle. Foals are inspected for conformation and paces, as well as for breed characteristics. A great and festive great week: A special occasion to meet breeders, riders and buyers over a few days in a friendly atmosphere. The Organizing Committee looks forward to sharing this experience! BUYING A “MADE IN FRANCE” HORSE For many years ANAA has helped to commercialize sport horses during these annual international events.
